Jack’s a Royal Marine. A war hero, haunted by his past. Or is he just haunted?

“A cracking, believable yarn made even more authentic by the wonderfully descriptive sailing scenes – and by falling in love with the true heroine, the Bristol Channel pilot cutter Draca.”

Ewen Southby-Tailyour OBE, Yachtsman of the Year 1982

Local author Geoffrey Gudgion’s second novel Draca will be released by Unbound on 14th May 2020. Described by literary agents Sheil Land as “a superbly written, fast-paced, ‘crossover’ novel”, Draca is both a literary, psychological thriller and a subtle ghost story.

Geoffrey will tell the story behind the book, its path to publication, and his partnership with the veterans’ mental health charity Combat Stress, who will receive half the royalties.

Geoffrey has been successively a Royal Naval Officer, a businessman and an author. His first novel, ‘Saxon’s Bane’, was published by Solaris and the ebook version became a genre #1 on Amazon. When not crafting words he is an enthusiastic amateur equestrian and a very bad pianist.
